Montreal, 17 June 2015
Dear Colleagues,
In accordance with Article 14.5 of the World Anti-Doping Code (the Code), WADA, acting as a central clearinghouse for Doping Control data, annually publishes statistical reports as reported by the WADA accredited laboratories in ADAMS (Anti-Doping Administration and Management System).
WADA has made a number of enhancements to the 2014 report following an internal review, together with feedback received from stakeholders on the 2013 Testing Figures Report. These include:
- Testing Authorities are now included with their ADAMS Code;
- All ADAMS data is now detailed in the Sport Report and the Sport testing figures are categorized as follows: ASOIF, AIOWF, ARISF, AIMS, IPC, Sports for Athletes with an Impairment, Other Sports – Code Signatories and Other Sports;
- The Sport Report now includes the number of adverse analytical findings reported in each prohibited list drug class by Sport/discipline; and
- The report has been split into a number of separate categories for stakeholders to easily select those specific testing figures of interest by summarizing Laboratory testing data from Urine, Blood and the Athlete Biological Passport samples.
These enhancements allow for a greater level of detail and accuracy, and make the report more user-friendly for those interested in reviewing global anti-doping activity.
We are pleased to provide you the 2014 WADA Anti-Doping Testing Figures. They are represented in four separate reports, and include analyses by the 32 WADA accredited laboratories (in 2014) for in- and out–of-competition Urine, Blood and Blood Passport testing:
These reports are provided to you in advance of public distribution, and WADA invites all ADOs to review their relevant testing data and to verify such data via ADAMS.
Furthermore, an ADAMS compilation reference tool, which outlines the critical parameters of the ADAMS Laboratory Results Report functionality, may be used by ADOs to compile and verify their test results from ADAMS. ADOs are encouraged to use this tool in ADAMS to compile and review the AAFs (Adverse Analytical Findings) and ATFs (Atypical Findings) related to samples from their testing programs.
ADOs wishing to comment on the testing figures that are in the report and available in ADAMS should contact WADA at statistics@wada-ama.org.
Please provide your comments by Wednesday, 1 July 2015.
We thank you for your cooperation and remain available to respond to any questions you may have in this regard.
Best regards,
World Anti-Doping Agency
